Adventures in Your Own Backyard
Many people will look at this page and think, “Of course you can have adventures. You get to travel the world.” The truth is, travel is amazing. Experiencing new places and new cultures is something that I cherish. However, to me having adventures isn’t linked to getting on an airplane or pulling out my passport. I can have amazing experiences a whole lot closer to home, all I have to do is walk out the door.
Wherever you live, there are adventures waiting for you. I’m fortunate to live in Los Angeles, where we have everything from beaches to mountains, museums to theme parks, and everything in between. In only a few hours of driving I can get to Santa Barbara, San Diego, and Palm Springs. I love finding parts of this city that I haven’t visited yet. And there are so many still to discover.
Today I may take a metro to Downtown LA to wander the Arts District. I may visit Disneyland or Universal Studios. I may go for a hike, walk in a beautiful park, visit a farm, or search out a strange museum. Anything is possible when you walk out the door.
I encourage everyone to look for adventures close to home. Search the internet for a part of town you haven’t heard of. Ask around for ideas from your friends or family. Step outside and see where your feet can take you.
What haven’t you explored yet?
